So today was the day I committed to racing the Vermont Beast to finish my New Year goal of completing the Spartan Race Trifecta for 2018.
I purchased the ticket, and picked up a new pair of shoes to race in (Salomon Speedcross 4’s because my barefoot Marrott sneakers were NOT cutting it). Only thing left now besides my training is to get housing for that weekend, a water bladder backpack, and snacks that will fuel me for the race and help treat cramps because I know they are going to happen 😒.
I’m super excited about getting this last medal for this calendar year but I’m also very nervous.
I keep hearing about how bad the elevation this mountain will be. And my training so far has only consisted of 1-mile runs just to ease myself back into running. But I do need to bump my mileage up to at least 5K runs for training to get used to running that distance.
Have you ran a Trifecta yet? If so, let me know how you were feeling leading up to the last race.
